Piher’s 6mm potentiometer line offer detents in its smallest rotary control

Piher’s 6mm rotary potentiometers now offer engineers a ‘Detent’ feature in it’s smallest package size of rotary trimmers. These detents are a spring feature that is incorporated into the products rotary action. This creates a resistance to rotation, at predetermined angles, that gives the user a ‘click’ action so they know the current position of the control.

Up until recently, this detent feature was only available on PIHER’s 10mm (PT10) and 15mm (PT15) product lines. PIHER has now engineered the same reliable rotary ‘click’ sensation into its smallest line of rotary sensors. Available in either 4, 6, 8 or 10 equally spaced detent positions, this feature is available in all configurations of PT-6 and PS-6 product lines. That means a wide variety of off-the-shelf mounting methods, custom ohmic (resistance) values, tight linearity performance, along with different rotor designs and standard shaft styles.

These potentiometers, already popular in hundreds of white goods, motor control, power supply and appliance panel control and sensing applications, now offer product designers the full features of PIHER larger products in a 6mm control / trimmer device. For maximum design versatility, the detents can be set at custom angles to suit your specific device requirements.

Engineered to serve as highly cost-effective control potentiometers for most consumer applications such as ovens, ranges, dishwashers, power hand tools, washing machines and HVAC systems, they also can fit many power supply, relay and motor control electronic applications.
