Piher sensing systems - custom potentiometers and position sensors

Service boost for Piher as custom design capability grows.

Tudela –Spain (September 12th), 2016 - Position sensor and control experts Piher launch “Piher Service+” which encompasses a new technical sales force enabling closer collaboration on custom development.

Piher Sensors & Controls has added three new technical sales managers for Asia, Germany and the United States to help customers integrate its products and technologies into their applications, optimising performance, or co-developing brand-new product developments.

Asia’s new sales manager has over 13 years’ experience in sales and field application engineering and technical support, with deep knowledge of Piher’s capabilities following previous service with the company.

USA’s new sales manager, has over a decade of significant and senior technical sales management at component and systems-level, most recently in safety-critical ferromagnetic detection. With varied experience, he understands how businesses, as well as components, work.

The new sales manager that will look after Germany, was educated in Spain and the United States and holds a first degree in Electronic Engineering. She has coordinated significant sensor projects in the automotive, industrial and white goods sectors.

The company celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2015, during which time it has evolved its product ranges from amongst the widest in contacting position sensors for consumer goods to innovative long-life, high precision contactless ranges. These include high-end carbon-printed resistors for the printed circuit boards that operate position controls for virtually every car marque in the world, plus the novel contactless technologies for shaft sensing adopted most recently for advanced steer-by-wire and pedal applications in agriculture and heavy industrial equipment—Hall effect magnetic touchless variable air gap (play-resistant), through-shaft (360°) and end-of shaft sensors.

Piher services its worldwide customer base from its Spanish hub in Navarre, Germany and Xiamen, China. Jesús Martínez, Commercial & Engineering Director, comments: “Piher has always kept pace with its customers’ requirements. Most recently, we demonstrated our ability to respond to the global procurement strategy of a key player in the automotive sector, delivering a highly-specified carbon printing process on the ground in China for the Chinese market. This included the establishment of a new engineering team there.”

"Now we have upgraded our engineering and operational footprint, our new worldwide technical sales force can raise the level of the technology conversation we can have with our customers.”

He adds: “But this is not all there is to what we are calling Piher Service+. The technology partnerships we aspire to come with new and significant flexibility on volume and technical specifications.”

To experience Piher Service+, you can find the company with its latest people and products at Electronica in Munich, Hall B1 stand nº 413 from November 8 to 11, 2016.
